As of September 23, 2008, we are officially engaged. Jeff did an awesome job with the proposal...I did tell him I wouldn't marry him unless he was thoughtful and creative so he definitely took the challenge. He left me notes in my car, on my bed, around the house, etc... for a few days. The big day finally arrived, but I didn't know it was the day.
We went to the temple on Tuesday September 23rd. It was great, but I was also a little anxious and preoccupied because I knew the proposal was coming soon, but I just didn't know when. After the temple, we drove up behind the capital where it looked out over the city. Jeff gave me some more cards then said he had something for me, but I had to get out of the car. Finally! The anticipation was killing me! He took out a very nicely wrapped box (with wrapping paper that matched some of the cards) and handed it to me. Inside was the 100th card that said, "Jenny, I love everything about you. I want to spend the rest of my life and all of eternity with you. I love you. Will you marry me?" Underneath the card was the ring. He got down on one knee and popped the question. My response? "ABSOLUTELY!"
The wedding date is set for December 20. Everyone is saying, "That's so soon! It will just fly by!" Well, everyone is wrong. It has been the longest couple of months ever (I say couple of months because we started the process toward the end of August). Being engaged is not all it's cracked up to be. We've entertained the idea of eloping several times, but, alas, the plans continue. If we both survive the next two months with school, work, planning, etc...it will be a miracle.
