My cute husband of 11 days

Jeff is the best. I had to work this morning and he was off today. I struggled getting going this morning so he made me breakfast and packed a lunch for me while he could have been sleeping. He even wrapped a spoon and fork in a paper towel and put it in the bag. I went to warm up my food and found that Jeff had written a cute little note to me on his OSU Beavers paper I got him for Christmas. I love this guy!
I think this picture came from a branch activity that I wasn't at, but Tara happened to have. Shout out to Tara for always being prepared!

Awwwww...

Here is just one of our wedding pics in hopes that you will all be anticipating the greatness of our perfect day...or something like that. Our photographer was Lydia Gravis. She's awesome and so fun to work with! Here's her website:

Shower caps and hair dryers

Sooo...we got married on Saturday December 20. More details to follow for that... Today I would just like to discuss our newfound love of shower caps and hair dryers.
We were freezing. Options: turn on the heat in our hotel room or take hot showers. Turning on the heat would probably have been the easier option, but then I would sweat and feel gross because I have absolutely no temperature regulation. A hot shower was the answer for me, but I didn't want to wash my hair again until the morning so I put on the beloved shower cap.
I have to admit that I kind of felt like my grandma, but as soon as I got in the shower, it was like the heavens opened. Seriously, I was absolutely thrilled with the fact that I could get warm and clean and not have to deal with wet hair afterward. I know this is not a novelty. Shower caps have been stylin' for many years. It's just taken me 25 years to finally embrace the beauty of them. Thanks to the Redlands Ayres Hotel for helping me with that.
Next item: hair dryers. Jeff has a newfound love of hair dryers. He discovered this love the same evening that I discovered my love of shower caps. Jeff was pretty excited to learn that he could get warm from simply turning on the hair dryer and blowing it on his face and chest. He also enjoyed watching water particles move around as the hair dryer blew on them. Hopefully that wording makes sense.
Now that we're officially married, hopefully we'll update the blog a little more. Stay tuned for amazing updates about the wedding festivities. Actually, don't get your hopes up. They probably won't be amazing. Have very low expectations of our blogging abilities...

The Story

I think we've told the story of how we met a million times...so for anyone who is interested, here it is:
Jeff and I were both attending a singles branch (yes...branch. Right in the middle of SLC). One Sunday night in April, we each decided to go to branch prayer. I went because the guy who was hosting it is a little (ok, a lot) crazy so I couldn't wait to see his house. Jeff went because he was being supportive of activities or something.
Anyway, I got stuck talking to this girl who doesn't stop talking. Ever. So as soon as I could get a word in, I kindly encouraged her to share her life story with the person sitting next to me... Jeff was talking to my friend Emily and I rudely interrupted with an inappropriate comment. Realizing that I'd never actually talked to Jeff, I said,
"Sorry. I have no censor."
Jeff: "Me either."
Me: "Great. Wanna be friends?"
Jeff: "Sure."
And from there we became buddies and then within a month we were dating and then got engaged in September and married in December. It was quite the year! So, sometimes it's ok to be totally inappropriate and let those comments fly. They might get you a spouse!

It's Official

As of September 23, 2008, we are officially engaged. Jeff did an awesome job with the proposal...I did tell him I wouldn't marry him unless he was thoughtful and creative so he definitely took the challenge. He left me notes in my car, on my bed, around the house, etc... for a few days. The big day finally arrived, but I didn't know it was the day.
We went to the temple on Tuesday September 23rd. It was great, but I was also a little anxious and preoccupied because I knew the proposal was coming soon, but I just didn't know when. After the temple, we drove up behind the capital where it looked out over the city. Jeff gave me some more cards then said he had something for me, but I had to get out of the car. Finally! The anticipation was killing me! He took out a very nicely wrapped box (with wrapping paper that matched some of the cards) and handed it to me. Inside was the 100th card that said, "Jenny, I love everything about you. I want to spend the rest of my life and all of eternity with you. I love you. Will you marry me?" Underneath the card was the ring. He got down on one knee and popped the question. My response? "ABSOLUTELY!"
The wedding date is set for December 20. Everyone is saying, "That's so soon! It will just fly by!" Well, everyone is wrong. It has been the longest couple of months ever (I say couple of months because we started the process toward the end of August). Being engaged is not all it's cracked up to be. We've entertained the idea of eloping several times, but, alas, the plans continue. If we both survive the next two months with school, work, planning, etc...it will be a miracle.

Tara made this for us at the Priesthood Dinner. (Of course, that was after she made a "J & T")
